it perfectly- I never need to leave Denton to do atnihnyg . a0But it is the local arts & music culture, and just the way this place feels that really draws me here & keeps me here.a0Having a beard & living in Denton means I'm not struggling in the vast corporate culture of rigid norms and frantic desire to get more & more goods before I die of a heart attack at 50. a0Its about slowing down & seeking out the artistic & poetic things that make life worth living, the good things that redeem the human race from all the destuctive, greed-driven things we have done to the Earth & each other. a0Its about living in the simpler, more sustainable way that more & more people in this country are longing for. a0Its about accepting everyone in a spirit of mutual respect, without looking down on anyone who isn't driving the latest SUV behemoth or isn't conforming to the cultural & social norms of the suburbs.a0Having a beard & living in Denton means I have a sense of our cultural history that predates the modern fasion standard that dictates a man must be cleanshaven and in a business suit to be respectable & professional, that the farmer in his old truck & overalls deserves the same respect as the bank president who sneers at him as he comes in the door.a0I love Denton. Its not perfect, but God willing, I would like to keep living here from now on. a0And growing my beard. a0 a0 a0 a0 a0 a0 a0a0

Hello Brian,It was really good to see you and your wife, Cathy, at MBS airprot last Saturday. You were returning home from a mission trip in Alaska and my husband, David, was returning home from an international conference in Boulder, Colorado. I absolutely resonate with your message above on friendship. Our lives are usually a blur of busyness but it's critical to carve time out for our friends and to connect regularly. We have mutual friends in Catherine and Deirk Martin, Curt and Dorn Hernandez, Bobby and Cherain Johns and Mervyn all of whom were from my native Trinidad and Tobago. I sure do miss them all especially Catherine and Deirk both of whom were spiritual mentors and advisors of sorts. Definitely friends. I know they all thought the world of you, Cathy and family.I will email you the photo taken of you and Cathy shortly. So impressed about your mission in Alaska it's a place I've always wanted to visit. Well, before this gets to be a missive, God bless you and carpe diem'! AnnaMaria http://ojqibtgbkg.com
